Every business is unique. Although a business may be in the same industry
or profession as another, this is where the similarity ends. So rather
than take a cookie cutter approach to determine your insurance and risk
management needs, we make every effort to learn your business.
Once we,
you and Pacific General, establish what those needs are
than we can create a program that addresses those needs. Pacific General Insurance
Services Inc. can provide programs for you that include:
Auto - Commercial
If
you use your auto(s)/trucks(s) for business you
need commercial auto insurance. The size or type of vehicles
is not the only factors that determine commercial use.
Other factors that may come into play can be, GVW, distance
driven, type of equipment, cargo carried and various other
factors. It is important that when you consult with a commercial
insurance professional that you disclose all relevant information
so that they can provide coverage that is appropriate at
the best price available.
Non-Owned Auto
This is an important coverage that is sometimes overlooked
and can leave a gap in your insurance program when not
included. Do you ever ask an employee to run an errand
or perform function for the company using their own auto?
If the answer is yes, than you probably have a Non-Owned
auto exposure. In most states the owner of that vehicle
is responsible for providing the primary insurance for
that vehicle. However, the protection afforded to that
individual does not necessarily extend to your business
and in case of an accident could leave your business unprotected.
BOP (Business Owners Package)
The
Business Owners Policy is a policy that was designed to
address the needs of some types of small to medium businesses.
The concept is straight forward in that the BOP offers
building, contents and liability insurance for the operation
of the business. Although coverage, limits, and terms and
conditions vary from insurer to insurer, this type of policy
typically provides an opportunity for business’ that
qualify to acquire a business policy with expanded coverage
at a competitive price.

suffers a property loss, will it cause a production slow
down or force a shut down for repairs or replacement? How
much revenue will we loose? One solution to assist in maintaining your revenue stream is Business Interruption Insurance. From the time the loss occurs until occurs until
your business is running, insurance can replace your lost
profits and provide a source of money to pay your necessary
continuing expenses including payroll, taxes and various
other expenses.
Commercial General Liability
Depending on the type of business, there are various forms
of liability coverage and limits available. The intent
of this type of policy is to defend a business against
legal action brought against it for causes of action defined
in the policy. It is important that you consult with a
commercial insurance professional to examine a business’ needs
and design an insurance program based on your exposure
to loss.
Commercial Umbrella
This type of policy is typically used to increase your
primary liability limits. It can usually be acquired in
million dollar increments.

Directors & Officers
Liability
This coverage provides financial protection for the directors
and officers of your company in the event they are sued
in conjunction with the performance of their duties as
they relate to the company. This coverage has been compared
to a form of Errors and Omission coverage.
Employment Practices Liability (EPLI)
This type of liability insurance provides protection for
an employer against claims made by employees, former employees,
or potential employees. It covers discrimination, wrongful
termination of employment, sexual harassment, and other
employment related allegations.
Errors & Omissions (Professional Liability)
Professional liability insurance, also sometimes referred
to as Errors and Omissions, is insurance to protect you
and your company in the event a client alleges they have
suffered a financial loss as a result of an error or an
omission committed by you in the delivery of your professional
services. Professional liability coverage is separate from
a General Liability (GL) policy which would cover you mainly
for bodily injury or property damage liability.
Inland Marine
Inland marine insurance covers
exposures that involve property and merchandise while in
transit or "floating". Valuable papers and documents,
as well as mobile equipment and other supplies are covered
by this policy.
Product
Liability
Product liability insurance protects you in case a product
you produce or provide causes harm to a user or a user's
property. A "product" is anything that is tangibly
used, touched, or consumed. This type of insurance is recommended
for every business that manufactures a product, but is
especially important for companies that produce food, clothing,
toys or anything else that could conceivably cause harm
to someone.
Most business owners policies include limited product
liability coverage. If, for some reason, you do not have
this coverage through a business owner's policy and your
product runs the risk of inflicting harm on other people,
you may need to buy product liability separately. Similarly,
if your product presents a higher risk of injury (for example,
it contains a hazardous material), you may need to purchase
additional coverage.
Sexual Misconduct
Sexual Miscondust insurance covers you for defense and
judgments brought up against you and or your business for
claims and suits regarding abuse and sexual molestation. Although
there may not be a judgment, the cost to defend these suits
can quickly mount and put a business of any size out
of business very quickly, even if the case is dismissed.
